From the official outset of the club in 1968 and to the present, His Highness Sheikh/ Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan has never ceased rendering support to the club, and this support has been the main factor in the revival that the club is witnessing at all levels. All these sport monuments have been made by the support of His Highness. From the early days of the club, His Highness gave the founders the first club’s official headquarters, and his support continued until Al-Ain club has become the greatest club with regard to buildings and playing grounds in the Arab region and Asia. Further, the support of Highness has also helped Al-Ain Club to make great sport achievements and championships, particularly in soccer, where the club has become the “Zaim” (the leader) who has won championships more than any other club in the United Arab Emirates. The first “Aayanawi”, His Highness Sheikh/ Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, is still rendering his limitless support.

On May 21, 1975 after being elected by the club general assembly, His Highness Sheikh/ Sultan Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Prime Minister, assumed the chairmanship of the board of directors of Al-Ain club. His Highness was the first son of Zayed who assumed the leadership of Al-Ain Club in the most significant period of its history following the club’s first participation in the general league championship of 75/76 and having the second position.

At the first meeting of the board of directors presided over by His Highness Sheikh/ Sultan Bin Zayed, the board addressed His Highness Sheikh/ Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, to continue to be the Honorary President of Al-Ain Club and form the administrative identity of the board of directors.

In the 76/77 season Al-Ain soccer team won the league title, thereby making the first achievement at the home level. His Highness attended the league final match between Al-Ain and Sharjah that ended with a draw.

His Highness Sheikh/ Sultan Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan remained about 3 years presiding over Al-Ain board of directors. During these years many rules were laid with regard to the administration and leadership structure of the club. At the same time, His Highness was president of Football Federation. But he handed in his resignation more than one time, but every time the General Assembly did not accept his resignation and re-elected him president of the Federation

Staff Lt. Gen. His Highness Sheikh/ Mohamed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, President of Al-Ain Club and Chairman of Honorary Board, is one of the most significant symbols of this great sport monument, and one of its eminent men. He is also the leader and inspirer of the successful sport march of Al-Ain Club.

Throughout 25 years and specifically on 19 January, 1979 a new era in the history of the club set in when the General Assembly of Al-Ain Club elected His Highness Sheikh/ Mohamed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan chairman of the board of directors. This new era was full of achievements and championships at the level of the UAE clubs.

Owing to his incessant and boundless backup, his loyalty to his club, and his limitless ambition, His Highness Sheikh/ Mohamed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan has become an example for every “Aayanawi” and every sportsman. His Highness has unparalleled eagerness to help Al-Ain Club in order to occupy an eminent position at the local, Gulf, Arab, and Asian levels.

His Highness Sheikh/ Mohamed Bin Zayed always supports the club materially and morally enabling it to achieve glories and championships. His Highness has a key role in Al-Ain successful march, and this is evidenced by the development the club has witnessed since His Highness assumed the leadership of the club.
