Below are the youths who carried the torch from the very beginning and were the owners of the idea of forming a club that was named after the city. Credit should go to them for the starting point, which was followed by many other points until there was this magnificent sports edifice.

A number of expatriates from Arab countries helped the founders in the beginning of the first stage. These included Ali Al Maloud and Ali Bu Majeed, who were the members of the Bahraini group of exchange students, and Ma'moun Abdul Qader, Mahmoud Fadhlullah, Al Fateh Al Talb, Hussain Al Meerghani and Abbas Ali from the Sudanese community working in the UAE at the time.

Following the stage of inception and establishment, the starting point had to be carried on in conformity with the founders' ambition. The founders played their role in placing the first brick but then thought rightly to resort to HH Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, to seek his assistance as regards the idea.

Generous by nature as he always was, HH Sheikh Khalifa ordered a delegation of founders on their first trip to be granted permanent headquarters to the Al Ain Club. From this point on and since the club was established in 1968, the trip of limitless contribution and continuous support by HH Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces started but has not stopped up till now.
